Choosing the Right Influencer to Collaborate With

Updated: Jan 9, 2022

If your social media is struggling for growth you might want to consider a collaboration with an influencer. These people have a dedicated following and can help you reach your target audience, build trust and drive engagement.

We all know one. An Instagram model. A fitness influencer. A lifestyle blogger. If you choose to collab with the right influencer, the outcome can be amazing – higher engagement, increased followers and in turn higher ROI.

But how do you pick the right one? When contemplating which influencer to team up with it’s important to do your research as it is crucial they align with the image of your brand. Here are three points you should consider before diving in and dm’ing your favourite influencer:

Relevance Its important you make sure the influencers content and brand image aligns with your own as the influencer should share relevance with your content and brand. Not only should their content be similar to yours but you should also take a look at who they’re receiving engagement from. They need to have an audience that aligns with your target market. their follower count is meaningless if those followers aren’t interested in what you offer. Engagement This is an indication of how well the influencers understand their followers by creating meaningful content. If they influencer has a higher level of engagement, this shows they have built great relationships. Credibility Influencers who have a smaller ratio of sponsored content tend to be more trusted by their followers. Often, a brand has informed the influencer of what to say in order to promote their product or service so the authenticity of the influencers content isn’t as high. Followers prefer a more personal view of the product, service or brand. Remember, influencer marketing is a wasted investment if your aren’t working with the right ones.
